How do I update my BMW Motorrad?
The BMW Motorrad dealer database on your Navigator is updated once a year. You can download the most up-to-date version on the Navigator V page. To run the installation, simply copy the files onto your navigator. There are precise instructions included with the database.
Go to your iDrive navigation view, open the settings menu and scroll down to Navigation system version. You will see the region, map version and year of your current map. If it’s more than a year old, it’s time to update.

Download Software update via BMW ConnectedDrive App/ My BMW App
- Enter the app and find the Remote Software Upgrade menu.
- Go to Remote Software Upgrade settings and choose the ‘Wi-Fi only’ download.
- Click on ‘Start download’.
- When the download is completed connect your phone to your vehicle via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
How do I install BMW map updates?
Insert the USB drive with the latest map data in the USB interface port of your vehicle. The Control Display automatically changes to the navigation update mode. Select ‘Update now’ to start the update. The update may take between 30 and 90 minutes to complete.
